La Petite Ruche Rouge Crozes-Hermitage

Sometimes called a “down-sized Hermitage” La Petite Ruche is all freshness and easy enjoyment from young vines. “Petite Ruche” means “little beehive,” an appropriate name as the vineyards were formerly used for bee keeping.

APPEARANCE: Deep red-purple.

NOSE: Red fruits, blackcurrant, raspberry and black pepper.

PALATE: Fresh and round tasting with ripe fruits and a black peppery finish.

APPELLATION Crozes-Hermitage

VARIETAL 100% Syrah

TERROIR High alluvial deposit terraces with a lot of shingles.

VINIFICATION Hand harvested at peak maturity. This Crozes- Hermitage is vinified in cement vats with a daily treadings or pumping. Vatting lasts between 2 and 3 weeks after the alcoholic fermentation (lasts from 10-12 days).

Alcohol 13%

Aging: Aging Matured in vats. Bottled the next autumn to preserve a natural fruit bouquet.

Suggested Pairings: All meats and poultry, cooked pork meats, all cheeses.
